The Digital-traditional (DT) Creation

However, in academia the digital humanities are needed in both the digital applications and in this case, the histories. Both shape the way scholars think and reason. The integration provides new research questions and new scholarships form. 

The course was enriching because there was information I was exposed to that I would not normally have known if it was not for this class. For instance, in the book Content Strategy for the Web, I learned a new term and job position called content strategist. This person’s specialty is to know the information, but also to know how to persuade the content to other who may be unfamiliar with the product or message. In the same book, I learned what magic layer means and its purpose. Magic Layer seems as though it comes after the brainstorming process and then the person starts to apply the ideas. This layer is feared from many people because it tests their creativity and challenges them to not rely on themselves rather executing the impossible with collaborators. When Professor Martin said that we needed to open a twitter account I was unsure what to expect. My knowledge of twitter was slim because I never needed to open a twitter account; therefore I never used one. At first tweeting was a slow process and getting in the habit of tweeting was an adjustment. I was basically a late bloomer, but I eventually caught on how to use the social media. Learning to use Twitter was one part of accomplishing the assignment. The other part that mattered the most was my involvement on Twitter and collaborating with others in the class while following other outside academic followers. Even though I enjoyed that the professor included this assignment, I was skeptical about using Twitter at first. I did not want to be hooked into social media in an unhealthy way, but I am glad I went through with it. Reading Response #6 Spreadable Media Ch. 2, 3 1.      YouTube is a digital writing environment in terms that users can upload videos where they can carry valuable information for any audience. It is a perfect medium for spreadable media, which is a necessary factor in a digital writing environment. The author shares that YouTube has been beneficial as an educational tool. Many users upload videos that teach people around the world about anything that people can think about. YouTube is similar to Snap Chat, a digital writing environment, because people are connected globally and become aware of the different cultures from a visual medium. YouTube also uses visual representation such as videos and has a participatory culture. This participation includes posting comments on how the people felt about the video and can share their likings. The people can report videos that they feel are morally incorrect.
